COMMISSIONING
Building Systems Commissioning is a process that begins early in construction and lasts up to one (1) year after occupancy. The commissioning (Cx) process, through tedious documentation, analyzing of design drawings and documents, and the execution of complex test scripts ensures that every engineered system performs to the design intent. There is overwhelming evidence that buildings which are properly commissioned by experienced, certified, and reputable contractors experience fewer warranty issues, lower energy costs, and a longer lasting more valuable property. There have been numerous studies showing how the up-front cost of commissioning can be recouped in as little as five years of occupancy.
More and more building owners and developers are requiring that their projects be fully commissioned by competent personnel independent of any other contractor on the construction team.
